  •Deal a blow (to sb/sth) -

  To cause someone or something, usually a plan or hope, to fail or to be affected very badly.(打击,使…受挫)

  Examples:  

  1.Law enforcement deals a serious blow to the international drugs trafficking ring.  

  2.The sanctions have dealt a severe blow to the local tourism industry.

  •Across the board (idiom) –

  Applying to all.(全线,通盘)

  Examples:  

  1.I think teachers should be paid more across the board, rather than singling out any one group.  

  2.They decided on a pay increase of 10% across the board.

  •In a breeze (idiom) –

  Easily; handily; without much or any effort.(轻而易举,毫不费力)

  Examples:  

  1.I'm confident that I can pass the math exam in a breeze.

  •Have (got) a hand in sth (idiom) -

  To be involved with something or have influence on something.(插手,参与)

  Examples:  

  1.He thanked all who had a hand in his release.  

  2.Who planned the party - I bet you had a hand in it, didn't you?

  •Root sth/sb out (phrasal verb) -

  to find and remove a person or thing that is causing a problem.(找到并根除,发现并杜绝)

  Examples:  

  1.The mayor was determined to root out corruption in city government.  

  2.The principal promised to root out the troublemakers.
